Seizure Smart Mental Health Professional Network
The Epilepsy Foundation of Michigan improves the lives of people affected by epilepsy through education, advocacy, research, and connection. Along with anxiety disorders and other mental health concerns, depression represents one of the most significant challenges of living with epilepsy and is often cited as having as big an impact on quality of life as seizures themselves. The Epilepsy Foundation of Michigan’s goal is to stop seizures, regardless of their cause; as such, our mission includes serving those with Functional Seizures (PNES).
With unpredictability, stigma, restrictions, loss, isolation, sleep disruption, medication side effects, the impact of seizures on mental health is complex. We’ve helped to build a network of professionals who understand this complexity and can improve mental health. They have each attended our training about seizures and mental health.
We invite you to find a provider in one of the locations closest to you.
