National Epilepsy Awareness Month

November is National Epilepsy Awareness Month, and we're going "All In"

We ensure that no one faces epilepsy alone.

This year is all about showing up and doing what we can to support epilepsy awareness. Each of us commits to taking action for the epilepsy community by learning more about epilepsy, sharing a story, wearing purple, or supporting someone with epilepsy. Together, we can build a stronger, more informed community.

What does it mean to be All In? It doesn’t mean doing everything; it means taking action intentionally to raise awareness and reduce stigma. Every action counts, and together, we can make a difference.

Ways to go All In this November:

Share your story

Explore inspiring stories, videos, and resources on our website, YouTube, Facebook, and epilepsy.com—then share what moves you. You can even submit your story to be featured on our social media!

Host a Paint the Town Purple Event

This year, we’re painting Michigan purple, but we need YOUR help. We’re looking for driven and ambitious community leaders to support this initiative.

Join us at events around the State

Whether it’s a community event, educational conference, or virtual connect group, we have something for everyone. Join in community and feel supported. Discover opportunities to learn, connect, and make a difference together.

Wear purple

What better way to spread epilepsy awareness than by wearing it proudly? Rock a purple shirt, a ribbon, or better yet, our official merchandise! Every time you wear purple, you’re sparking conversations and showing your support for the epilepsy community.

Become Seizure First Aid Certified

1 in 10 people have a seizure at some point in their life; would you know how to respond? Explore the Epilepsy Learning Portal for on-demand trainings, visit our events calendar for upcoming live trainings, or download free resources to brush up on the basics.

Honor someone you love

November is a great opportunity to honor and/or remember someone you know who is touched by epilepsy by making a gift in their honor. Make your honor gift, and help to continue to fund the vital mission of the Epilepsy Foundation of Michigan.
