Maanya Tarnal
Volunteer Coordinator
Maanya Tarnal is the Volunteer Coordinator at the Epilepsy Foundation of Michigan, where she is responsible for building, developing, and overseeing the Foundation’s volunteer program. Maanya first became involved with the Foundation as a volunteer in 2022 and later interned with the team in the summer of 2023. During her internship, she led the creation, distribution, and analysis of the 2023 Michigan Epilepsy Needs-Based Assessment.
Diagnosed with epilepsy during her junior year of high school, right in the middle of the pandemic, Maanya faced challenges navigating her diagnosis during such uncertain times. However, after volunteering with the Foundation in her freshman year of college, she discovered a deep sense of purpose and connection that strengthened her bond with the epilepsy community.
Maanya is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Public Health at the University of Michigan, with a strong interest in healthcare program development, health equity, and quality of care.
