Jessica McMahan

Helpline and Advocacy Assistant

Jessica joins our team with 16 years of advocacy experience, and a wealth of knowledge gained from navigating her middle son’s complex medical diagnosis. She has spent over 20 years mentoring teenagers, meeting them where they are and guiding them through their formative years. With a deep-seated heart for the community she found through these challenges and experiences, as our Helpline and Advocacy Assistant, Jessica brings her passions full circle by providing our epilepsy community with the dedicated support and direction they need.

Jessica lives Downriver with her husband, three boys and miniature dachshund, Winnie. She loves spending time with her family and friends, cooking for them, hosting gatherings at her home and planning their next trip to Northern Michigan.

“The most important thing I have learned is that everyone has a deep desire to be heard and seen. My compassion for people comes from the truest desire to show up for them in the way I would like people to show up for me. Holding space, patiently listening, helping in whatever way I can, and creating a safe environment that they know they can come back to again and again… I am grateful to bring my perspective and gift to care for others to the Epilepsy Foundation of Michigan.”
