Tele-health
Children and youth with epilepsy who live in rural and medically-underserved areas of Michigan have less access to epilepsy specialists. Telemedicine makes it easier for families to see their child’s specialist and better manage their care.
What is telemedicine?
Telemedicine is a safe, video-based way for parents and their children to meet with a specialist (or other provider) without driving a long distance. The video visit might take place from the patient’s home or another location. The visit happens in real-time and allows the patient and provider to interact much the same way as when the visit is face-to-face.
