The Epilepsy Foundation of Michigan is thrilled to hold its second annual Epilepsy Innovation Conference in Grand Rapids on June 1, 2019. As the title of the conference suggests, all presentations will have a strong focus on the latest advances in the field and exciting changes on the horizon. The conference is primarily for people with epilepsy and family members, but professionals will also find value in attending. This Saturday conference will feature expert speakers from Grand Rapids and across the state, and will provide an opportunity for education and networking to the epilepsy community in West Michigan.

We are excited to announce that our conference will feature a conversation with Kurt Eichenwald, journalist and NY Times best-selling author. Mr. Eichenwald will discuss his recently published memoir “A Mind Unraveled,” which chronicles his remarkable journey with epilepsy. Amidst a barrage of discrimination, medical incompetence, and emotional turmoil, he found the strength to not only survive but thrive. In the spirit of this conference, Mr. Eichenwald will share what we all can do to change the narrative about epilepsy and build a more responsive and accommodating society. The conversation will be moderated by Brian Sterling, Wood TV News Anchor.
