The Epilepsy Foundation of Michigan is thrilled to hold its second annual Epilepsy Innovation Conference in Grand Rapids on June 1, 2019. As the title of the conference suggests, all presentations will have a strong focus on the latest advances in the field and exciting changes on the horizon. The conference is primarily for people with epilepsy and family members, but professionals will also find value in attending. This Saturday conference will feature expert speakers from Grand Rapids and across the state, and will provide an opportunity for education and networking to the epilepsy community in West Michigan.

We are thrilled to announce that our conference will feature a conversation with Kurt Eichenwald, journalist and NY Times best-selling author. Kurt will describe his journey with epilepsy, his memoir describing it, and his vision for the future. The conversation will be moderated by Brian Sterling, Wood TV News Anchor.

Other session topics will include the following (subject to change):

  • Advances in Neurodiagnostics and Pre-Surgical Evaluation
How recent advances in neurodiagnostics and pre-surgical evaluation are expanding access to surgical treatment options and improving outcomes

  • Brain Health in Epilepsy: Reprioritizing Emotional and Cognitive Wellbeing

  • The Genetics of Epilepsy: Cracking the Code
