Legislative Breakfast
WE NEED YOU!  Join us as we work to shape public policy relating to epilepsy. The Foundation invites those affected by epilepsy and their families to share breakfast and the issues or concerns they may have as a result of living with epilepsy with their state legislators at this event.
The 16th Annual Legislative Recognition Breakfast was held on May 6, 2014 in Lansing. The informative breakfast brought together individuals affected by epilepsy, their families, and legislators to hear the Foundation's public policy priorities.

 Public Policy Priorities for 2014
  • Assure access to care for people with epilepsy, especially medications and specialty care
  • Treat mental health conditions the same as general health conditions (Mental Health Parity)
  • Reinstate motorcycle helmet laws to prevent epilepsy
  • Support measures to increase the number of school nurses in Michigan

To learn more about the Epilepsy Foundation of Michigan's public policy priorities, please review our Public Policy Advocacy Page. Call, write, or email your state representative and state senator encouraging them to join you at the breakfast.  To find your legislator visit the Michigan House of Representatives and the Michigan Senate.
