The 2010 Flame of Hope event helps the Epilepsy Foundation of Michigan give thanks to a few of the many individuals that have helped us achieve our goals. The Flame of Hope is much more than just a symbol attached to our logo. The Flame of Hope represents the spirit in which we reach out to those affected by epilepsy and their families every day.

Epilepsy Entertainment Gatherings (EEG) is a program that offers social events for individuals with epilepsy and their families. These monthly events are an excellent opportunity to meet others affected by epilepsy and have a great time while doing so.

The Epilepsy Foundation of Michigan's Camp Discovery provides youth with epilepsy a safe, structured and encouraging home away from home for 5 days and 4 nights. Staff includes Foundation personnel, pediatric neurologists, experienced camp counselors and registered nurses. Financial assistance is available.

These conferences are designed for individuals with epilepsy, their families and others whose lives are touched by epilepsy. There are numerous topics that are covered during the event, and some attendees may even be eligible for continuing education units.

These monthly conference calls offer the opportunity to share your experiences with others while learning more about epilepsy and related topics...all from the comfort of your own home. These 90-minute toll-free calls include both educational content and open discussion.

Young Adult Leadership Council

The Epilepsy Foundation of Michigan is recruiting young adults, ages 18-25, for its Young Adult Leadership Council. Having epilepsy is not a condition of membership; however, applicants MUST be passionate about taking active leadership roles in their communities to further the mission of the Foundation.

Action
Council
The Epilepsy Foundation of Michigan is recruiting youth, ages 14-17, for its Teen Action Council. Having epilepsy is not a condition of membership; however, applicants MUST be passionate about taking active leadership roles in their communities to further the mission of the Foundation.
 

This 3.5 hour training for school nurses provides 3.2 Continuing Nursing Education contact hours. Participants learn about seizure recognition and management, the effects of epilepsy on school performance, treatment options, and more.
